As a career pessimist, I'm always on guard for something to go wrong, ... but when it goes RIGHT, ... Case-in-point: My initial perception of the hotel upon arrival. We arrived a little after 7pm on a Friday, and pulled up behind a City of Houston shuttle bus picking up a passenger. Now, in ALL my travels and stays with IHG, I have never seen a bus come to the front door of a hotel. In my mind I was sayin', "Oh what fresh hell have I gotten myself into?" There were people standing around the front door and in the parking lot. It didn't give me the greatest feeling of welcome. We selected a room on the 4th (top) floor. The room was clean, fresh, and fully stocked. The very opposite of what I was expecting. I salute the housekeeping staff for their professionalism. The next day, after a little "detecting", I found out that this Candlewood is also a long-term, as well as an apartment facility (doesn't state any of this online). Kinda' explains all the people and children roaming the grounds. But the hotel itself was quiet, clean, each bed had 4 pillows, ... everything we expected. The AC even got to a comfortable 68° before we went to bed. As a career pessimist I will say I enjoyed my stay, but they really should work on that first impression!

Refused to honor IHG Rewards Night

Sent my daughter to this hotel due to a family emergency. Booked it using my husband's IHG Rewards Nights. Put my daughter as a guest. They would not let her use the rewards nights as her father was not with her. She wound up paying her own money. Called IHG Customer Service and they apologized. Said that my daugher should have had no problem checking in with the rewards nights. I think the hotel needs to train their front desk staff better.

We stayed there for almost a year and all of the staff were so nice and always helpful! We feel like we are at home with families. We will be sad when we are ready to check out next month. For those of you that need to look for long stay hotel or apartment you guys need to check out this hotel. You will save a lot of money plus the service are great and the hotel is always clean .

I was humiliated and dehumanized by the front desk Manager Yunita Hasewell or if that’s even her name she refused to give it to me until the cops made her. I was kicked out and treated beyond bad and disrespected beyond belief because the color of my skin. I ask for housekeeping after staying for a week already and planned to extend longer as well, but instead I was greeted with a ignorant attitude and called racial slurs and told I was breaking the rules by asking for housekeeping. After minutes of disrespect and racial profiling and telling me to get out after I already paid my room up and yelled at like I’m a dog off the streets. I called her a racist b**** because that’s indeed what this hotel clerk is. The management team are racist and prejudice towards women with color. Because they definitely a little too friendly towards the MEN in general but very disrespectful to women. I would never ever return to this location unless new management and owners take over. Yunita Haswell and Margaret Yeong are very racist and they don’t deserve to be in positions of power. They attitude towards black people are disgusting. Anytime someone constantly says “You people…” and calling guest n words and think that’s customer service and then call cops on innocent single mothers for asking to get housekeeping in the middle of pandemic should not have power. These two women should not have control in a company that is diverse and “supposedly” welcomes all cultures and races. These two women abuse their authority and treat individuals of color like trash and do not know how to properly talk to people with respect and manners. DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL IF YOU ARE BLACK AND HAVE CHILDREN. YOU ARE CLEARLY NOT WELCOMED IF YOU ARE BLACK AND ESPECIALLY A WOMAN.

My daughter and I stayed at the Candlewood Suites in Spring Texas. Lucas checked us in. Very professional and very thorough. The room was large...I guess an extended stay hotel is like that. The room was clean, well equipped. We both enjoyed our stay.
